We generally assume that your children will behave respectfully and participate in class in a disciplined and attentive manner. However, there are always situations in which children are unable to follow certain rules. In order to be able to react appropriately to these situations, we use the "traffic light" system. This is intended to ensure that the school rules are implemented transparently and consistently for everyone involved, so that there is more time for lessons.
At our primary school association, everyone should have the right to feel comfortable at school, to move around without fear and to work without disruption! Based on this, we consider the following school rules to be binding:
Below are six rules that are binding for everyone:
1. I behave in a friendly and respectful manner!
2. I am quiet and attentive during class!
3. I follow the rules of conversation!
4. I observe the special rules of the subject lessons!
5. I listen to what the school team tells me!
6. I follow the break rules!
The process:
There is a "traffic light" hanging in the classrooms and specialist rooms, clearly visible to everyone. Unlike a "conventional" traffic light, we have agreed on a visual gradation in 5 phases: "Ready to go", "Warning - 1st rule violation", "Warning - 2nd rule violation", "Yellow card", "Attention", "Red card".
Each student has a clothespin in the classroom with a name on it. At the beginning of each school day, these are placed in the “READY TO GO” position (green area).
If a student violates one of the above rules even after repeated requests, the child's name bracket will be moved up on the traffic light.
At the third warning, the student "jumps" to "yellow" (YELLOW CARD). The child receives the so-called "yellow slip". The student should reflect on why certain rules are important and formulate how he or she would like to behave in the future. The "yellow slip" must be filled out by the child - together with the parents - and signed and returned to the class teacher. For children whose literacy skills are not yet sufficient to write down the required answers independently, the parents take over the task of writing them down on their behalf. The issuing and return of "yellow slips" are recorded in a corresponding list.
If the child violates the rules again after receiving the "yellow card", he or she will receive another warning and the name bracket will move to the orange field (ATTENTION!). The child must remain in another learning group until the next break.
If the rule is still broken, the student "jumps" to "red" (RED CARD). The child must now call the parents/guardians in the presence of the teacher and tell them: "I was disrespectful and need to be picked up!" The parents/guardians must pick up the child immediately or have a suitable person pick them up. A meeting with the school management or a person appointed by the school management follows within a week.
We want to feel comfortable at school and learn and teach in peace. We want to do everything we can to form a community. To do this, we have to trust and respect each other.
